Culturally Responsive Learning Style
A culturally responsive teacher consists of learning about each student’s life, the way they gain knowledge, not letting one’s perspective on a student’s lower one’s expectation of them, making the class equitable, and using appropriate strategies. The teacher does all of these things, but her strength is learning how each students learns new material best, or preferred leaning style, and plans her lesson accordingly. This gives each child an equal chance to learn the material. According to Cushner (2015), “A learning style is that consistent pattern of behavior and performance by which an individual approaches education experiences” (p. 258).     Being a military brat I was raised around all different kinds of race, religion, cultures, and so on. I know what it is like to be that one with different views and values.
