Culture and Identity
Culture and identity
Culture can be a person’s background, or it can be a life to someone. It can also be many different nationalities coming together as one community. Culture is different regions of the world carry their living, thinking, behavior, clothes and all that which makes them different from others. Culture includes language, dance, and clothes, folk and religious.
Culture means to be different, outstanding and unique. Whether people respect our culture or not, but still we will always have it in our blood. Some people have given culture a different meaning. They don’t understand the real meaning of culture. Some of them make culture like violence, and think that is dangerous. Most people of them are elders that think other culture is dangerous and violence. But some of them are adults too.
Here in Norway we have many different culture and people from other parts of the world. Like Africans, Asians, Europeans and other parts. But most of them are from Asians and Africans. And those people bring some culture into Norway. Like foods, words, clothes and many more. Few examples of foods from other part of the world like: kebab, spring rolls and sushi and more. But some of the words they use here in Norway are mostly from American like: just chillin’, YOLO (You Only Live Once) and more. But some of them use the words from Middle East and Africa like “Wallah”. Those words are most frequently among the youths from Norway, when they’re just kidding.
When you are in Asia or Africa or Europe you have to do as they do. Maybe you have to follow the rules too. In Norway it is perfectly acceptable to dress comfortably and casually for work or school, even to wear jeans and a sweater. In most other countries, this rule does not apply. In Asia, Britain, America (?), and all over Africa, for example, the students have to wear school uniforms to school. And businesspeople wear suits to work.
In our modern world, we can’t avoid coming into contact with different

First of all, culture is the total of knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors shared by and passed on by the members of a specific group. It involves things like food, shelter, religion, security/protection, education, creative expressions, language, relationships to family and others, and political and social organization. Some people would say that culture acts kind of like a blueprint for things like how a person should act to fit in with a group. It ties everyone together into one group while separating them from other groups. Culture includes all products of human work and thought and helps us solve some problems that everyone faces.…

Everything we as human beings come into contact with in the social world has a role, however minor, in helping to shape our individual identities. However, the question has been posed, is it culture and socialisation which are more influential as a social process in developing our identity or is it the social structures which are the main shapers in developing our identity? The culture we are raised in and the people that we come into contact with on a daily basis as a young child are the first encounters we have with socialisation. As children we imitate those close to us and habits begin to form. Through this imitation we also learn to express our emotions. These behaviours are ingrained in us from an early age and are the first basic building blocks we are given to develop our individual identities.…

What is culture? According to Cambridge Dictionary, culture is the arts of describing, showing or performing that represent the traditions or the way of life a particular people or group; literature, art, music, dance, and theater. All humans are introduced to a culture through socialization. “What we learn depends on the culture in which we live as well as our place within that culture” (Ore. T, 5). Often times race and culture are assumed to be one in the same. Race is based on the perception of physical differences in a way to classify individuals. Culture is based on how one person is raised to believe, think, and act in their society.…

My first reaction of the video was of surprised because I had not thought of that way like Ali Al Saloom. He explains about the cultural identity. I understood that for people appreciate you, most accept their culture in all aspects. The example that gave Ali Al Saloom it was a woman lived over 20 years on Arabia. She still did not accept about the women covered their hair. So it was wrong for the women because she doesn’t have morals of the cultures. She most appreciate all the cultures and do not critice them. The other part of the video that was important was when Ali Al Saloom share about his Colombia story. The moral of the story was that you should never assume others words of a culture. The words can change by the different culture perspective of the people. The last important word for all the video was respect. By having respect with other we can know the person and coexist together. What was the message? The message was that having respect to others cultures. We can change about our own personality, morals and grow up to be a better person. Also we can prevent conflicts with others countries by respecting their own point of view. This can help to the world if we appreciate the people cultures and thoughts. For me the cultural identity is a personas background and also how you can refer to a person. It is usually what they are from, the language because a language develops according to the particular needs of the people who live in a certain location at a certain period of time, who share a way of life and culture, it is clear that language is strongly intertwined with culture and identity. A certain richness of communication and connection is lost when a person is unable to speak the language of his or her ancestors. On the other hand, knowing the language of one’s ancestors provides a sense of grounding and belonging, like Ali La Saloom said about the English that they can also speak like in United States of America. And the religion, the food according…
