The play itself is not about reality, but it is about the insights that form the shape and style of the play. The play itself is a representation of how little they can peer out their curtains to the outside world. Ruby herself is occasionally referred to in the play as the curtain girl. This could be a sublime reference to the little Ray and Sylvie can interact with the outside world. When character Dawn says “I’m not a real person, but I’m going to become one” reinforces the discrepancy of the neighbours, and in their desperation for the truth behind their daughter’s disappearance, they construct a personal reality to solve their scarring mystery. The concept of this being a play within a play is one of a popular opinion. Ruby being the curtain girl could also alludes to the physical curtains of a performance and the idea of the world of Ruby Moon is an invitation into the world of the imagination: that of the director, the plays two characters and alternately our own personal experiences. The way Ruby Moon shapes and styles the play, makes is an absurd piece of theatre, and this amplifies the exclusivity of Australian Contemporary…

Alfred Young wrote this piece using the writings of James Hawkes and Benjamin Thatcher from their face to face interviews with Hewes himself. Young is able to paint a perfect picture in the reader’s mind about what influence and importance Robert Hewes had in the events that sparked the revolution.…

    1. The cast lies to Justin about the fire in the toilets because they are committed to continuing the opera and knows that Justin will disband the project if they don’t convince him that it is Cherry, not Doug, who has started the fire. This is significant because Lewis has been given the perfect opportunity to escape the asylum; his choice to continue with the play illustrates the growing commitment, friendship and trust between Lewis and the patients and indicates that the group will work together to achieve success.…

Godspell, by Stephen Schwartz, is a musical that depicts counterculturalists from all walks of life coming together to learn from a Jesus figure. The play directly quotes the stories and parables found in the book of Matthew. While the play’s parables can be explored to find their overall message of love and redemption, the play can also be observed as an artifact of the countercultural movement.…

Zoës Kitchen began in 1995 as a family-run restaurant in Homewood, Alabama. The company's owner, president & CEO, John Cassismus had turned his attention from his own business ventures to the family business, with desires to build a world-class company. Mostly frequented by mothers with small children and white-collar employees in the area, the restaurant catered to those consumers with a desire for healthy foods at comparatively lower prices. As of December 2005 there were 16 locations in five different states. The brand was strong and synonymous with freshness, home-style goodness and family recipes. The menu boasted healthy selections, mostly with a Greek influence, (i.e. chicken pitas & roll-ups, salads & dinner plates) which consumers could also purchase in larger quantities for take-home consumption.…

On November 20th I went to the Black Box theatre to see the play Seminar. It was a small production, and there were only five actors. Going into the play, I had no idea what to expect. I had heard the play was a bit raunchy, with explicit dialogue and provocative scenes. The play started out with four actors portraying college graduate writers. I loved how realistic the setting was; it really looked like somebody’s real apartment. The actors did very well portraying emotion, and every thing they did and said I could relate to. At one point, a girl was eating real ice cream and complaining on the couch to her friend. I thought it was funny how every girl could relate to that scene. I also liked that the actor had no problem devouring ice cream on top of memorizing her lines and acting at the same time. I would find it hard not to focus on anything other than the delicious taste of the ice cream.…
