Working Together to Safeguard Children 2010
It provides statutory and non-statutory guidance to organisations and practitioners on how we should work together to safeguarding children. It applies to people who work in education, health and social care and also to the police and probation service. Children Act 1989
It allocates duties to local authorities, courts, parents and other agencies to ensure children are safeguarded against and welfare is promoted. It sets out how children are best looked after primarily within their own family, but also if this is not possible the provisions where this cannot be the case for example adoption.
The Children Act 2004 provides a basis for social services and other agencies how to deal with issues relating to children, the principles of this act relates to: • To allow children to be healthy • Allowing children to remain safe in their own environments • Helping children to enjoy life • Assisting children to succeed • Help make a positive contribution to the lives of children • Help achieve economic stability for childrenâ€TMs future.
Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006

Children and families Act 2014

This includes a provision requiring school governing bodies. Local education authorities and further education institutes to make arrangements to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
