As I arrived at my destination September 25th, The Dali Museum located at One Dali Boulevard, in the beautiful waterfront city of St. Petersburg, Florida I was not amazed to see the eclectic art located both within and outside of the building, but at the wide array of different people working at the building. As I approached the very top of the stairs a saw a few patrons milling around the tour area and to my immediate right sitting left of the entry door sat a woman and her companion, her seeing eye dog, who were also waiting for the tour begin as well. Since I was a little early I took the time to walk around the third floor and look at the sculptures and paintings, take allowable photos and take in the panoramic and stunning view of the St. Petersburg waterfront, Pier, Airport, and The Mahaffey Theatre and nearby Progress Energy Baseball …show more content…
Allen moves from painting to painting without any hesitation and with grace and ease and within a few minutes the audience seems to have forgotten about her Seeing Eye dog companion. The tour progresses into the middle of the room where painting of a beautiful nude woman is view. Ms. Allen informs us that the model in the painting is actually Dali’s wife and that she would later serve as the model and inspiration to many of his works. From painting and painting, movement after movement the audience seems to begin to ease its way into focusing on the tour, the story of Dali and his paintings rather than the ability for Patricia to lead the
