As more and more time goes by, technology advances providing more efficient and unique things that the average person can buy. Drones have become very popular items that many children want in the US want. Drones are remote control copters that any person can buy and fly around. Some of the most popular drones include the DJI phantom, and parrot brands (PC Magazine). These brands include the best drones offered to the common People. The more and more drones become common item the more problems occur. The problem arises, if drones are used by inexperienced people, can't they injure or even in some cases, kill people if they were to be hit in the right spot?
Drones are great items that anyone can buy, but they should not be considered a toy. Companies are now delivering packages via drones. This has sparked debate over if this is safe practice or not. As we know drones are light weight objects and "people are afraid that a gust of wind might come by and send a drone into your neck, causing the propellers to slice it, killing you"(Discovery Channel). A TV program called MythBusters tested this theory. However, larger drones that are made for camera platforms, or package delivery drones made out of carbon fiber, which can be dangerous (Discovery Chanel). So the theory that an injury or death may occur with a drone is definitely possible. The Los Angeles Times wrote an article about a situation like this as well. A woman by the name of Mariel Gaza talked about her experience flying a drone, "I lost control of my HD video equipped sky-viper" (Los Angeles Times). This is one of many examples that demonstrates how difficult it is to pilot a drone and the danger that may come with it if not piloted by a professional or someone that has many hours of flying
