Daniel Robert Graham once quoted “I describe governor as being a quarterback”. This means if a person makes a right decision they are an excellent governor however if they do not make the right decision they won’t be considered a good governor. I relate this to my report because if I write an outstanding report I get a great grade on the other hand if I make a poor decision my grade will not be as good. He was an important figure to Florida because he made a difference to the Floridians by leading a way in creating a number of environmental programs during his years as governor and also he did a lifetime of service. He started his career due to his family being in politics and they encouraged him to go for governor. When he first entered the field Graham was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 1966 and after the Florida Senate in 1970. Being the only politician that actually had work days to be able to connect with people of Florida; therefore he was elected governor in 1978. In addition he was reelected in 1992 and 1998. Graham learned it doesn’t matter if you are governor it is your heart that matters. He had to overcome schools and his fear that the U.S senate and the people wouldn’t like him. Daniel Graham was famous for being a good Governor and a kind person. His accomplishments he did were, received the National and Florida Wildlife Federation’s Special Award in 1982; the Chief State School Officers Award for Most Outstanding Contribution to Education in 1983. Graham greatest accomplishment in his career was long battle to save America’s Everglades with congressional approval of a complete plan to restore the “River of Grass.” At $7.8 billion, the fixing of the Everglades is the largest environmental project ever undertaken by the federal
