Arnold Schwarzenegger An individual in a position of authority who I admire is former governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger. He inspires me because he does not fall into the stereotypical form of a politician. In his early years as an immigrant in the United States, he made a career out of bodybuilding. He is of Austrian descent, and came to America in 1968. His bodybuilding career ultimately led him over to pursue a career in Hollywood. After the successful completion of many hit films, such as The Terminator, Total Recall, and Conan, Schwarzenegger decided to switch over to a career in politics. In his political career, he represented California as the state governor. (Biography.com Editors). In his personal life, Schwarzenegger married Maria Shriver, who is a part of the famous political family, the Kennedy's. Arnold is a father to his children: Patrick Schwarzenegger, Joseph Baena, Katherine Schwarzenegger, Christina Schwarzenegger, and Christopher Schwarzenegger. (Wikipedia). In 2003, he began
Despite being a Republican, Schwarzenegger supported many liberal issues. For example, Schwarzenegger vocally supports same sex marriage and is pro-choice. In his early years as the Governor of California, he called for the passage of many unpopular measures dealing with labor issues. however, after his reelection in 2006, Schwarzenegger won many individuals support due to his role in attempting to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, his second term in office was unsuccessful because of the financial deficits the state was facing. Even though his terms in office proved to be unsuccessful due to the low approval ratings and state finances, Schwarzenegger reached the maximum term limits allowed. Therefore, in 2011 he left his office to revive his career in the film industry. (Biography.com
