Was Ray Kinsella a triumphant hero who dared to live his dreams, or merely an insane lunatic who blindly followed voices that could only be heard within the confines of his mind? Have you ever read a novel were the character’s appearance is described? You paint a picture in your head how that character look, sounds, acts, and speaks. Then finally when the movie comes out to theaters, the actor the movie producers cast looks nothing like what you had in your head. Let’s say the character in the book has brown hair but the actor they cast has blonde. It changes your whole viewpoint on that characters, but it doesn’t change the way you related to that character. Somewhat like that, I had an idea of how Drew Westen looked. Drew Westen was without a doubt had to be smart because of all his accomplishments. Drew Westen received his Bachelors of Arts at Harvard University, a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of…
From a sociological perspectives as to why Randy gets in trouble so often this could be related to his race, his lack of real family and growing up in the system, his lack of education, and his lack of money. In the Wire you see the teachers and principal use this against him by threatening to call his foster mom unless he gives them the information they want, such as, who has been graffitiing school property. His lack of money is what reluctantly drives him to do things he might not want to, such as, delivering a message to Lex which led Lex into a trap though Randy did not know that it was a trap till after the deed was done and he was given more money for his part. This is an example of sanction, a reward for following the norms, though alternatively a…

Being born and raised in the Dominican Republic, the words future and happy career dreams are words of fairy tales. Yes we all go to school but barely anyone makes out of grammar school and even less make it past high school. In my household it was my parents, two uncles, grandmother, my two younger brothers, and my niece. We were a big family living in a house with 3 bedrooms so we used bunkbeds often. My dad, grandma, and uncles never got past high school. I became the first one to attend college in the United States and now my mom and brothers are attending college. The school system in D.R. is not the best. Usually people end up dropping out and working because of the high percentage of poverty in the country.…

King Alfred the Great was not only a great warrior, but more importantly a nation builder. I think this quote is a true assesment of Alfred and I will explain why in the pages that follow. Alfred was born into a royal family in 849 in Wantage (now in Oxfordshire). Alfred was the fourth child and it was therefore unlikely he would ever be considered as a king for the nation. However, he was able to recite poems about his heritage at the age of four – yet we believe he may not have been able to write until late into his life. Alfred’s dad Ethelfwulf, arranged for Ethelswith to marry King Burger which improved relationships with the Mercians. Wessex was almost completly surrounded by sea but this turned out to be a large problem for Alfred because of the continuous attacks from the Vikings. Alfred seemed to be popular with his younger brothers and sisters’ as well as having many friends.…

The paper concludes with a hypothetical analysis of what the author imagines it would be like to work as Mr. Unger’s therapist…
