Dark Arts Should Be Illegal
I believe that the Dark Arts should be made illegal for safety reasons. It is important that the wizarding community stays safe, look at all the dark wizards over the years and less curses will be invented.
The wizarding community has had many dark wizards from the beginning of the wizarding community to later days. The latest dark wizard was he-who-must-not-be-named. He and his followers have killed hundreds of witches and wizards, they have also tortured hundreds of people, they have gone as far as to killing muggles who have nothing to do with are community of wizards and witches. I'm sure the ministry does not want an other dark wizard/witch to rise to power and split apart families.
Secondly in this past years the wizarding community as

For me personally, books should not be banned because it is basically censoring someone else's art. Writers or authors have the right to publish whatever they want. They are just books. People should not get all worked up over a piece of literature. Especially schools. Schools across the country in different time periods banned the novel for the reasons being that it is too vulgar, sexual, and violent for kids to read. (“Banned Book: The Catcher in the Rye”)…

Banning books is suppressive, and limits the speech and printing of other's ideas throughout literature. The censorship within today's society makes it hard to believe we actually have freedom of the press nowadays. It makes us think is it truly fair for books and other types of literature to be banned ? Banning books shouldn't be allowed anywhere around the world, it shows censorship and negative publicity toward the press and author's of books.…

The article on the shooting in Las Vegas has a lot of good points about guns and people with guns. However I think that guns themselves should not be banned but maybe things about the guns should be banned. This artic explains how some people view guns and how these people want to either ban guns or not. The article also tells us how the government wants to deal with the guns and how the people will be safer or not as safe. The national rifle association is calling for a cooling off period after this shooting in Las Vegas.…

Gun control can be looked at from many different viewpoints from many different people. Some people believe that all crime will be stopped while others think it will only increase. Guns should not be banned in the U.S because banning them will not make the killers stop, good people need to help, and making guns illegal will just lead to people disobeying the law.…

One of the things that makes this country great is our freedom to say, write, and read whatever we want. Yet people are attempting to restrict our access to certain books, by either challenging them or banning them. The reasons are usually because it has sexual content or witchcraft and the encouragement of violence. Book banning has become so common that the last week of September is known as Banned Books Week. There have also been lists of frequently banned authors, as well as banned books. What is interesting about these is that many of the books are classics.…

Handguns and teens do not go together. Why then is the number of young people being killed by handguns increasing each year? It is against the law for anyone under the age of twenty-one to handle a gun, but it seems that this law isn’t being followed by the world today. Many people have guns in their homes, for “protection” they say, but one cannot honestly say that the weapon killing young people is a good means of protection. As a nation, a society, the people of today should stand up for what’s right. Don’t give teens the opportunity to handle a gun. Handguns should be illegal to the young people under any circumstances.…

Books like The Perks of Being a Wallflower, To Kill a Mockingbird, and even the Harry Potter Series have been banned or challenged in towns across America. This may come as a surprise since these books are favorites amongst many as the texts range from educational to simply an enjoyable read. Censorship of books goes back to 360 B.C., but has become more of a problem in recent years. Over 11,300 books have been challenged for their content since 1982 and many people can’t seem to find reason behind it (About). Banning books should be prohibited because banning books creates a curiosity to read questionable literature, violates people’s right to read what they want, and limits exposure to varied messages which allows the reader to understand…

    Why Guns Should Be Banned

    • 667 Words
    • 3 Pages

Why do people keep guns? These days many people own and carry guns with them in the name of security and protection. Many people own guns such as rifles and shotguns for the sport of hunting. The government allows people to own and carry guns by having a background check and getting a permit, but there are many private gun sellers who sell guns without any background checks and giving permits. The possession of guns should be strictly banned because they are the sign of violence, they have increased the rates murders and insecurity, and even many children have killed other children.…

    Gun Control Persuasive

I believe that guns should not be banned in the US. “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.” I am sure most of us have heard this saying at some point in our lives. Surely, it is a statement of the obvious, but the logic behind it rings true. It may seem rational to ban guns entirely to prevent people from killing, but it is not the guns themselves that are the problem. That is just a simple solution to a complex problem. The criminals who kill others are willing to break the law and risk going to prison for the rest of their lives to murder, yet they are expected to follow firearm laws? If a nationwide gun ban is enacted, criminals will not suddenly follow the law and reject the thought of buying a firearm on the black market. Banning all guns in the United States would be irrational because it would not lower crime or prevent firearm-related murders.…

Picture sitting in school while people next to you possess guns. Though this may sound a bit farfetched, it can happen. Due to the second amendment of the Constitution, one has the right to bear arms. It is reasonable that people would want access to guns for the sport of hunting though. But allowing people to "carry" guns is reckless. Firearms should be outlawed because they have granted children access to kill easily, inflated the murder rate in the United States, were created to kill, and have inflated the murder rate in the United States.…

“Imagine a city where graffiti wasn't illegal, a city where everybody drew whatever they liked. Where every street was awash with a million colours and little phrases. Where standing at a bus stop was never boring. A city that felt like a party where everyone was invited, not just the estate agents and barons of big business. Imagine a city like that and stop leaning against the wall - it's wet. ” (Banksy 85) Graffiti is a global form of expression that is untamed but uses similar methods as advertisements, yet is illegal in most cities. Street art is a way of spreading your name or message, just like a company puts up billboards to get their product to their demographics. Graffiti and Street art in general are just terms for the urban art form of scribing or painting on public space with a message or name. The culture of graffiti is very hard to control since all of the tools needed are in the average person’s home already. Street-Art should be legalized because it is less destructive than advertisements and they are displayed in the same methods.…

The United States has been a gun culture country since the day the Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776. After many decades, gun ownership had rapidly increased, and many lives have been saved with a gun. An American citizen can legally purchase a handgun at age twenty-one and a rifle at the age of eighteen with a cleared background check by a licensed dealer.
