As the story continued it became an interesting read for me. The Yellow Woman is about a woman that generally at first wanted her freedom. To me she was cheating on her husband that was sitting at home with her baby. She was having a nice time with a man that she seen by the river. The mysteries man named Silvia took her deep into the woods. Yellow Women continued to try to figured out the identity of this man. Yellow Women kept thinking that Silvia was a Navajo considering his characteristics. First being that he was rustling cattle from the Mexicans across the border. Next being that the man was tall, a characteristic of the Navajo people. The next morning after Silvia has kidnapped Yellow Woman, he had disappeared. Yellow Woman seen this as her opportunity to escape. Yellow Woman left to end up returning back to Silvia’s house. Silvia was back home, with a carcass hanging from the tree. Silvia would load everything up because they were going to market. On the road there a white man would catch Silvia for killing his cattle. Sometimes if you gain a person trust it can help you in the long run. This is a very hard concept to learn and hold. That prisoner could have very well kill or ran away that night from Daru. It’s hard to have enough trust for someone that you don’t know. In the story of Yellow Woman, we can learn that freedom is not always great. It is peaceful to have freedom from life that you leave. These freedoms do need to be judge in better thought. The decisions you make do have consequences that could change your life forever. Yellow Woman could have died or never seen her family ever again. Freedom needs to be used with caution, otherwise it could come back to bite
