Evolution is a change in the gene pool of a population over time. A gene is a heredity unit that can be passed on unaltered for many generations. The gene pool is the set of all genes in a species or population. The modern theory of evolution is easy to understand. It can be summarized in a single but slight long sentence: Life on earth evolved step by step with one primitive species or molecule that lived more than 3.5 billion years ago; it than spread out in different kinds of living organisms and made new species; and the mechanism for most of the evolutionary change is natural selection.
