Employees: The employees want to work somewhere where they can be proud of their organisation and be proud to be a part of the team. They are internal stakeholders. They also don’t want to be made redundant all of a sudden and be left jobless; therefore they seek security of employment. If they commit their very best in what they do they expect rewards and bonus’ back. Also to keep employees within the business there should be promotion opportunities…
The current managerial strategy used is the classical managerial strategy “that assumes most employees inherently dislike work but can be induced to work in order to satisfy their economic needs” (Long, 2010, 29). This has caused employees to believe that they are not valued and can be easily replaced at the management’s discretion.…

Since I want to run my own business I want my employees to have this vision. If we all are trying to make a difference in this world then we will be unstoppable. That sounds cliche and cheesy but that is ideally what I want for my business. I want to hire motivated people that will share the same vision as myself. After reading this book written by Daniel Pink I think I have a better understanding of how I want to run my business and how to make it successful. He has not only taught me how to manage a business but how to keep employees engaged and interested in sharing the same vision as…

The old concept of a manager was one that drives employee's to work. The assumption with this model is that people that come to work do not necessarily want to work and that micro-management techniques and a heavy hand over employees is the only thing that will motivate them to complete work according to company requirements. Now however, the new theory of management is one where the employee is expected to be more of a self-managing professional. The manager's role is more inspirational, leading by example and instructing employees rather than “lording over” them. This change has occurred primarily in response to evidence that has found that employees who are satisfied with their workplace and enjoy their job are more highly motivated, higher producing and more focused on the interests of the company.…

“Employees’ satisfaction with their jobs has an effect on whether they remain with their employer or leave the organization.” (Delfgaauw, 2006) This is an emerging trend throughout the individuals’ work career. Individuals leave current employers, when they become disillusioned with current managerial styles. Lack of independence causes “individuals to seek out other job postings and either leave the department or the organization.” (Delfgaauw, 2006)…
It has been suggested that “financial rewards do not guarantee more productivity, but paying attention to employees’ motivational needs does” and that “managers need to pay less attention to financial incentives and more to the actual motivation needs of their employees” (Sunday Business Post 2012). This is further supported by the results of the 2011 Mercer’s What’s Working survey where “being treated with respect, a work-life balance, the type of work undertaken … were ranked ahead of overall compensation” (Sunday Business Post 2012).…
It is important that maintenance of good order is kept to ensure that any crew, organization, or team is running and working smoothly without much conflict. In this situation, the evening Sergeant took heavy disciplinary actions toward Officer Smith for his behavior and sarcastic tone. Officer Smith received suspension as punishment. The Evening Sergeant 's response, in my opinion was very much appropriate but not for Officer Smith. I believe that Officer Smith 's status in the department should have also been factored into his punishment, especially since this behavior is not usual or continuous from Officer Smith. If this had been something that he had been warned about or something he 's done in the past, then it…
