Lords novel is just this, he goes through the steps in great detail, and it makes it easier to follow and picture in my mind. The one thing that I do not like about this book is that he is constantly switching from the Americas point of view and the Japanese. But in all honestly it is not that bad because he keeps it separated by chapters. I really enjoy that the book is mostly based on journals of others.
Anyone who is intrested in learning more inside of what went on at the attack of Pearl Harbor is highly recommended to read this book, I mean it is the top selling re-creation of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Lord does a great job with this book because he is a history major and he has a lot of insight. Another type of audience who would enjoy this book are history buffs in general.
