Deadpool Vs. Deathstroke
Death Battle of Comparison:
Deadpool versus Deathstroke

One of the most controversial subjects amongst comic book fans across the world is; “Who would win in an ultimate fight to the death: Deadpool or Deathstroke?” The answer to this question has been debated over for years; igniting in-depth research into each of these individuals to find out who would come out on top. These two are put against each other for many reasons, such as their fighting style, background story, and even the fact that they have the same last name. While most comic book fanatics put their faith into Deadpool, mostly due to the fact that he is technically immortal, Deathstroke has his own set of advantages that could potentially deal with that problem. Now let us delve into the hard facts on each of these superior individuals to find out just which one is the most superior. Deadpool, a.k.a., “The Merc with the Mouth” was first drafted into the comic book scene when he was placed in The New Mutants #98 in February 1991. Deadpool is considered one of the most popular comic book anti-heroes of all time. Deadpool, whose true name is Wade Winston Wilson, was made subject to the Canadian Government’s “Department K,” whose main goal was to make living weapons out of people with “special abilities.” This Department K oversaw the Weapon X program. The Weapon X program’s main function was to take these already special people and further enhance their natural ability, typically without their consent. Deadpool willingly consented to Department K after learning that he had developed terminal cancer and received a promise of a cure. Department K immediately placed Deadpool in the Weapon X program and given the regenerative property that they had siphoned from Wolverine in years past. This came as a double-edged sword, however. The regenerative property was thought to simply accelerate any kind of healing factor the human body might have, primarily cell growth. This very property, however, also

The legendary story of Billy the Kid has been told for over one hundred years. Movies have been made since then, portraying a similar story of Billy the Kid. The popular movie, Young Guns, was made in 1988 and was based around the teenage life of Billy and his posse known as “The Regulators”. However, the movie had many major historical inaccuracies. One example of a historical inaccuracy was the age of Billy’s employer John Tunstall. The movie portrays him as an old fatherly figure to the regulators, however Tunstall was only a few years older than Billy and died when he was twenty-four. The movie also represents the regulators incorrectly. There were more than six regulators and they were not all young fit men, most of them were in their thirties and forties. They also did not call themselves the regulators until after Tunstall’s death. Another example of a historical inaccuracy in the movie Young Guns was the scene where Murphy’s henchmen shoot Tunstall in front of all of the regulators. Tunstall, by himself, was riding horseback and was shot while herding horses back to the ranch. An additional historical inaccuracy was the scene where the regulators are stuck in McSween’s house surrounded by soldiers. In the movie, only five regulators are stuck in the house with Mr. McSween and his wife. In reality, there were about 15 regulators and the battle lasted about five days, not two. At the battle, Billy the kid is shown as killing Murphy for the final scene. No matter how cool the ending was, it was completely inaccurate because Murphy was not shot by the Kid, but died of cancer in Santa Fe. Young Guns is a great movie but the historical inaccuracies in it are very…

In 1961, Lee’s publisher, Martin Goodman, told him to create a series for Marvel Comics to counter DC Comics. Timely Comics had been changed to Atlas Comics and now it’s been changed to Marvel Comics. Lee worked with the illustrator, Jack Kirby and together they created the Fantastic Four. It wasn’t long before the duo created the Hulk, Spider-man, Doctor Strange, Daredevil and the X-Men. Marvel Comics became more and more popular and Lee was promoted to editorial director and publisher. In 1971, he wrote a story for bad-effects on drugs and included it in The Amazing Spider-man. This was appreciated for spreading a responsible message and it helped loosen the Comics Code Authority's strict guidelines on the portrayal of drugs in comics. From 1975, he became more known for Marvel Comics…

An antagonist is defined as a person who is opposed to, or the "bad guy." In Cool Hand Luke and One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest the Captain and Nurse Ratchet played this role, respectively. They both appeared to be what I would call and "control freak." Although Nurse Ratchet and the Captain are similar characters, I feel that their need and reason for control, as well as their methods, differ.…

David Walker and Frederick Douglas’ contrasting approach to the oppressive epoch of the antebellum South compare favorably to that of Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Both men were passionate oppressive on the issue however both had different takes on how the issue should have been addressed and ultimately resolved. David Walker’s approach compares to that of Malcolm X in that both men were extremely passionate in what they believed to be right and just and went about addressing those particular issues in more of a radical, risqué kind of way. Whereas Frederick Douglas’ approach compared to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in that both individuals matched the kind of passion on an issue that Malcolm X and David Walker shared, they just felt a situation no matter how unjust, should be organized and conducted in a more conservative manner. Perhaps the most key difference between both men is that David Walker was an advocate for the use of violence unlike his counterpart Frederick Douglas.…

Though many individuals in the antebellum United States felt slavery was an abomination, few felt so strongly about it that they would risk their livelihood or wellbeing to fight for abolition. Those who sought change most avidly often drew inspiration from personal life-changing experiences or their engrained beliefs. Anti-slavery operations such as the Underground Railroad could not have functioned on such a large scale without the financial and organizational support given by wealthy citizens such as Levi Coffin. Others who had experienced slavery firsthand, like Harriet Tubman, felt that it was their duty to risk all the freedom they had won to help their enslaved family and comrades. In addition to freeing slaves and fighting to end slavery, these individuals became symbols of bravery and fortitude, giving inspiration to other abolitionists and sympathizers. Tubman and Coffin worked primarily in different time periods and geographical locations, but both were motivated to break slavery laws by their religious beliefs and their childhood experiences with the horrors of slavery. Even after the emancipation of the slaves in 1863, there was something within these two that kept them fighting for equality and justice.…
