Death Penalty Should Exist
Death Penalty Should Exist
The problem with death penalty is very controversial. People divided over how to punish criminal. When a person did something wrong or broke the law, he would get punished, such as warnings, fines, detention, fixed-time imprisonment, life imprisonment and death. According to his mistake how serious, he would be sentenced to which punishment. But some people thought that everyone has made mistakes. So we should just give a small punishment to criminal rather than death penalty. In my opinion, the death penalty is a good way to protect citizens from some murderers.
The death penalty law executes in most places around the world. There are 33 states have death penalty in the US. Why do we kill people who kill people to show killing people is wrong?
In common, recent statistics tells us that the death penalty will scare murderers because everyone are afraid of death. Also, criminals are afraid of death because they think life in prison is less feared than death. According to Ernest Van Den Haag, of New York Times, “People fear nothing more than death.” Murderers prefer life in prison to death penalty. If they had a chance to choose, they would choose life in prison rather than death. In prison, they can enjoy every day like ordinary people. They not only have warm sunshine, tasty meal and comfortable sleep, but also have opportunity to study, play, and visit friends and family. They think life is less deterrent than death because they can still alive. So we should keep execute murderers because execution can stop further murders and protect citizens.
Prison almost never change people for the better. Some criminals are easy to appear, because of the complex social situation. These criminals are unable to forgive. When a person killed people, he didn’t receive death penalty. Maybe he would escape from the prison; maybe he would instigate others to killed people. It is dangerous to the society. Some people might agree with the death penalty. Families get devastated when someone they love and care about has died. Its different when that person they care so much about has been murdered or killed. People tend to hate that person and have the urge to do just about anything to them in order for them to suffer, which causes us to take, revenge on them. This matter has lead to the death penalty. This is a punishment that slowly kills the man or woman that has committed the crime. Why should we have pity on those who choose to kill? If they felt powerful enough to kill, then we should be able to do the same to them. Whatever their reason is that they choose to kill they should be punished someway, somehow.…

The death penalty is set in place to punish individuals for the most violent crimes. Its purpose to keep the death penalty legal was to deter people from doing these horrible crimes. That attempt has failed terribly. According to a report conducted by the National Research Council, it was said that we could not depend on the death penalty to deter the effect of murder rates. “Claiming that the death penalty has a deterrent effect on murder rates are fundamentally flawed and should not be used when making policy decisions” (Radelet & Locock, 2012).…

The death penalty has been an ongoing debate on whether it should be allowed or whether it violates our constitutional right. While most developed Western nations have stopped executing the United States continues to execute offenders (Zimring 2004). From 1977 through 2008 1,136 people have been executed, which consisted of people who committed murder (Procon 2010). Those who are in favor of the death penalty believe it is an important tool to help deter crime and it cost less than life imprisonment (Procon 2010). They believe retribution helps console the grieving family and it also ensures that the offender will never be able to commit another heinous crime (Procon 2010). According to Grant (2004) some people believe that some offenders should face the death penalty because of vengeance and retribution for violent crimes. During the…

It is a waste of money, time and space. The death penalty simply confuses the community and blurs the line between right and wrong, since you are hypocritically punishing someone for killing another human, by in return killing them also. The death penalty isn’t decreasing the murders so why re-instate it? Imagine the affect on young children when they find out what happens to hazardous criminals, it would ruin the child’s innocence. They death penalty bring nothing but suffering to the family of the criminal, and a negative atmosphere throughout the community. If it were your child on death row wouldn’t you want them to have a second chance? Once again, I state with utmost important, the death penalty should remain as a figure of the past and we should remain civilised and keep our-self and community away from this inhumane act as long as…

Society demands that punishment should fix the harm it has done. By sentencing a person to death no harm has been fixed. As long as capital punishment exists in our society it will continue to spark the injustice, which it has failed to curb. The death penalty is morally and socially unethical, should be construed as cruel and unusual punishment, has no proof of acting as deterrent, and risks the appalling and unacceptable injustice of executing innocent people. It does not matter who does the killing as long as a life is taken by another, it should always be considered…

Some people argue that the death penalty will bring a closure to the victim’s family. They will be able to get on with their lives. However other people believe that suffering can be made in different ways. For instance, it is unfair to the criminals in which the evidence against them is weak and in which it was an accident. Executing a person who could possibly be innocent is morally wrong and inhumane. I believe that for the criminals to die in such a public and painful way is cruel and unusual. It is not an effective way of handing out justice. The death penalty can also keep the victim’s families stuck in an angry stage of grief. Moreover, the death penalty might bring the opposite of what survivors of crime most need; accountability, healing and closure. Those criminals have family and loved ones too. Some of them even have a wife and children, why should they suffer by seeing or knowing that their loved one is being sentenced to death?…

Has it ever occurred to you that in this country you can be executed for a crime you didn’t commit, even if the method of killing you is expensive and completely unconstitutional? The government believes that this is the correct way to punish those who have committed horrific crimes. Is this really the best option? I don’t think so. As a citizen of this country, this system of “justice” appals me. The death penalty should be abolished in the United States because it is unconstitutional, comes at a great cost, and is otherwise ineffective at carrying out its intended purpose.…

The death penalty is something that has many countries in the world divided. In my opinion, I believe that the death penalty should be legal throughout the country. There are many reasons as to why the death penalty should be legalized in the country including retribution, deterrence, and morality. Also, because opposing arguments do not hold up, I will discredit the ideas that the death penalty is not constitutional, irreversible mistakes are made, and that race and income will face disproportionality.…

The death penalty in the United States is inflicted upon criminals by the state as punishment for an offence. This method of punishment dates back to the beginning of recorded history. Various primitive tribal histories indicate that the death penalty was a part of many ancient justice systems (Wikipedia). Nowadays, it is primarily used in cases where someone commits murder. Some people think that capital punishment deters crime and prevents convicted criminals from committing greater offences, but this idea is false. It has been debated for a long time because it is a poor way of punishing murderers. Execution in the United States violates human rights and is not the most effective way to inflict justice. Examination proves this point. The death penalty clearly violates human rights, is not an effective means of preventing other crimes and is very expensive.…
