While in tenth grade I took grade eleven science and then, in grade eleven, I took grade twelve math and sciences. This resulted in beginning my grade twelve year with three grade twelve courses already completed because I also took a summer school English course. Overall, throughout my education I have worked hard to do well, putting aside the outside influences of family and friends, in order to pursue my post-secondary path. I not only worked ahead in my courses but being a part of the school community has also been an essential factor. I have participated in clubs at school throughout my four years, but I also volunteer and work outside of school. I am currently a member of Girls Respect Group (GRG) and JUMP; I have been a member since grade 11 and grade 9, respectively. In GRG this year I have held a senior position where my duties are more behind-the-scenes. For example, when we hosted the Women’s Day Breakfast I was in charge of writing donation letters, getting in contact with possible guest speakers, etc.; whereas, younger/newer members did more speaking and running around at the actual event.
