Life of a Sisterhood

What is sisterhood? Sisterhood is based upon these essential qualities such as trust, loyalty, protection and emotional support. As well as being a role model for one another and never feeling alone, knowing that there’s always someone to lean on. Sisterhood is found, not just at Bennett College but also all over the world starting with your family to long life friendships. It is a bond that is never broken. Sisterhood is built on trust and loyalty and without these things there is no bond. Trust is being able to feel comfortable to open up to somebody and trusting them with your secrets. Letting your guard down and being vulnerable is a big step towards trust. Loyalty is being faithful and loyal to your sisters. Your sisters staying true to you through thick and thin and being there during all of your struggles. These are very important qualities for a sisterhood and if my sister is someone I know I can trust and are loyal then they will always have a place in my life. However, you have to give to get. Therefore, if your sister is being good to you then you should also be good to them as well. Sisters are also there for your protection and emotional support as well. Being there when there’s no one else to turn to and when there’s no one there to save them. If your going through it and you feel like the world is out to get you then your sisters are the ones to turn to. If you feel threatened or scared they are the ones you go to. Sisterhood is a powerful thing that you grow from. It also improves your attitude as well. It betters you as a person and teaches you how to become a successful young independent woman. I can relate to sisterhood because I’m the oldest of my two youngest sisters at home, Kamiyah and Mikaya. They look up to me not just as a big sister but as a role model. I’m there for them through everything as they grow up, for advice and to just have someone to sleep with at night when they don’t want to be

Are you caring towards your own siblings? In both reality and in the make believe, there are many different types of brotherhood. For example, in the novel Tangerine, Edward Bloor uses the motif of brotherhood to show that people are brother by chance and friends by choice. Joe and Mike Costello, characters in the book that live in Tangerine, have a brotherhood that is based on love, care and stability. On the other hand, Paul and Eric Fisher, brothers who had just moved from Texas to Florida, have an unhealthy brotherhood that is based on fear, hatred, and inconsiderate. These two pairs of siblings are perfect examples of…

The short stories “The Scarlet Ibis” by James Hurst and “My Brother’s Keeper” by Jay Bennet are both realistic examples of family dynamics and how they can affect the way siblings treat each other. “The Scarlet Ibis” demonstrates how older siblings tend to feel the need to assist or help their younger siblings in things they cannot do, often leaving the younger siblings codependent on the older siblings for everything. In comparison, “My Brother’s Keeper” demonstrates how trauma can lead to siblings leaching to each other and becoming reliant, more often one more than the other. Even when two people are not siblings but are close, one person can become codependent on the other, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck is the prime example of this.…

My essay is about the power of siblings. Both in The outsiders and my essay Siblings bond over death or the thought of death. In The Outsiders Ponyboy and his brothers, including the greasers bonded over the death of his parents and Jonny, their good friend. It’s sad but true, people tend to get closer when they realize how short life is. My brother and I bonded over the fact that we would have to help my mom together. Being able to have someone there for you can give you a sense of safety because believe or not the closest person in your life should be your sibling. I feel bad for people who don’t have older siblings or lost them because they will never know what it’s like to have someone who already went through what you’re going through.…

The character in this story, Sister, seems to be in a way jealous and a little selfish, but with good reason, she has a sister, Stella-rondo, who has always been everyone's favorite and everyone would believe everything she said, from her saying that Sister was "one-sided to her,( Stella-Rondos ) "adopted" child. Sister has every reason to not like Stella-Rondo. Everyone else in the house seems to think that Sister is indeed very jealous of Stella-Rondo, and Sister can not even defend herself because that would have just verified everyone's point. Although it is a little comedic, the whole story shows bits and pieces of anyone's everyday lives. Jealousy, stubbornness, spitefulness, and sibling rivalry are the main things implicated in this story.…
