“Having the power to move heavy weights or perform other physically demanding tasks” is defined as being strong (Oxford Dictionary). That is exactly what most people think of when they hear the word strong. To some, strength is only in physical form, but for others it comes in emotions and mental stability. When I hear the word my mind automatically thinks about mental capability and performance. I think of three ways to define the meaning of strong, physically, emotionally, and mentally. When I think of physical strength I think of power or someone who has muscles, I think of emotional strength as being able to express yourself freely, and mental strength as being able to understand and persevere through difficult circumstances even when you want to give up. …show more content…
Someone who looks athletic, defined, or toned. There are many people in this world who are physically strong and are proud of it. Physical strength is a superb thing to have for your own personal benefit, like protection. If someone is trying to harm you, you have the upperhand for being more fit than the assailant. Not only would you be able to protect yourself, you could also protect others when they are in danger or need help with something too. To be physically fit is great for your health, it helps combat health conditions, diseases, weight gain, and increases mood and energy. However, there is also a negative connotation to go along with physical strength as well. On the dark side of physical strength comes abuse and misuse. More often than not it is used to harm someone, the most common forms are domestic abuse, crime and bullying. To have physical strength is a great asset but, can be a mere burden to others.
