You can pick your nose, you can pick your friends, but you can’t pick your family.Your family will always be there for you. You love your family and your family loves you. These are the words that filled my little ears constantly; they are still preached on holidays where I’m surrounded by people who share the same bloodline as me. Your household: mom, dad, siblings; then your grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins. The people that watched your shoe size get bigger and begged for school photos every spring and fall. In reality, a ‘family’ is not always big or happy; family isn’t always blood relation. The school, in a lot of situations it doesn’t fit, but our school is like a family in some ways. There is no denial of the teachers that care for you, that some strangers will help you no matter the circumstances. I’ve personally met some great people that I would’ve failed test without their guidance, not of them were teachers. Families have each other’s back and that is what a lot of people in this school stand for. Your friends are also a family itself. It’s hard to find good people, to find people that will love you unconditionally and not support you but also tell you when you’re in the wrong. They are very hard to come by, but they exist and once that bond is in place, like a family, that relationship couldn’t be broken. Thirdly, the military. I have people that are very close to me that have told me that you have a military family. You have these people around you that are experiencing the same things as you, whether it’s there first time or their fifth. You grow close to these people, there is a type of bond that you just can’t find anywhere
