A Real Hero
What makes a real hero? Their is no actual definition of what a hero is, although many people think of a hero as a fictional character that save other people's lives. A hero can be more than a fictional character. A hero can be anyone who decided to step up to what's right or someone that is brave enough to step up and do the right thing. There are many examples of heros today. Some are fictional heroes like superman and batman, although there are many heroes that actually helped others accomplish more things in their lives like Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela.

One example of these types of heroes are Rosa Parks and Harriet Tubman. Rosa parks is a hero because she stood up for what's right. When Rosa Parks refused to give her seat to a white person and she was later arrested. Because Rosa Parks refused to give her seat Martin Luther King lead a boycott of the bus system in Montgomery, Alabama. Harriet Tubman is a hero because she saved her family and others lives from slavery. Harriet Tubman risked her life to save her people from becoming slaves for the white by taking a series of underground tunnels.
There are also many examples of people who are not heroes. Some reasons that doesn’t make you a hero is opinion and a regular person. When you are not a hero than it is because it’s someone's opinion of whether or not you are a hero. If someone believes that you are a hero it doesn’t mean that you are. An average person living their normal life is not a hero. People who live different lives than most people are heroes. People who risk everything including their lives to save others or help others is a real hero.
As I wrote this essay I learned many things. One thing I learned is that every hero goes through a hero's journey. I also learned that a hero is a person that has an ordinary life and then all of a sudden change to help others or to stand up for what's right. These reasons are what makes you a real
