Definition Essay: The True Meaning Of Home
Everyone has a place they call home, whether it lies in a person, an object, an actual building enclosed by four walls, or a special place or event that holds meaning to you that has occurred throughout your lifetime. It bring us bliss, satisfaction, and it holds unique memories closest to us. We feel secure almost as if it’s a fortress, and although it may not be flawless this place holds so much affection to our heart. When you think of home you think of parents, siblings, grandparents, relatives, you become at peace when you are there, and you also feel some type of warm comfort. The word home has many representations but they all gather the same image, you are at home where you are happiest and most content, and once you leave that is when …show more content…
They describe it as a passionate connection to where they cannot live without the other. They feel as if they can be their true selves and never have to give in to one another. Home to them is a person, as a home to a music fanatic could be a concert, home to a book worm can be a library, and home to a child could be the hug of their parents after a long day. And to the people who don’t even have a household they still have a home that they are longing for, and to some this household is mostly love they are searching for in a person or even an object, to feel accepted and belonged as if they never left. So you see, home is almost never a home. A brick house with a white picket fence, a dog in the front yard, and a mailbox with your name on it is just a shelter to most people. Home to them is where their heart is. Home is just one of those words that can be incredibly easily and very difficult to identify. In some cases your home can change just like how people change and how it’s always open to ideas and things. It becomes one of your most valuable possessions and starts to grow very fondly on your heart. Home is your mom, your dad, sister, brother, aunt, friends, significant other, a new car, the park down the road, or even a song.
