For example you'd never say Martha Stewart, David Karp or Thomas Edison were failures would you? No, because despite the minor setbacks or choices that these people made they managed to turn their ‘failures’ into successes. Too me failure is life's greatest teacher.
When I think of this definition of failure, I’m reminded of Thomas Edison, the inventor of the light bulb. While there are many conflicting stories of how many times Edison “failed” at inventing the electric light bulb, we know that without all of those ‘failures’ he wouldn't have been able to make the alterations needed to eventually succeed. One of Edison’s most famous quotes is, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work. Many of us try so hard not to fail. Why? To make others happy. To feel worthy. If you fear failure then ultimately you fear moving forward and trying new things. And if this was true for everyone we'd never make advancements with ourselves, society or the world. ‘Failure’ was perhaps my biggest fear. But over time i learned that it's ok to ‘fail’ as long as i get back up. The thought of overcoming failure has constantly filled my life. As I look back, I have learned new ways to cope with failure – to make it lead to my success. Lots of questions. Lots of studying. Lots of learning. I've never failed. Have you? From this fear i had i've learned that it's impossible to please everyone. Therefore, i decided too just fulfill my own
