El Salvador is on the most deforested countries in the region. Explain how and why this problem should be solved.

Deforestation is the permanent devastation of forests. Deforestation happens in many ways: when trees are cut down to grow crops, logging so wood can be used for building things like houses, for roads and neighborhoods, and forest fires. Deforestation is affecting our country. At least eighty percent of our forests have been destroyed.
Although there may be a need to cut down trees at some point, humans need to protect the forests and woodlands. Trees provide good things for humans and for the environment.
The main cause of the present day crisis is increasing population. The increasing population of the world has threatened the existence of trees. Majority of people living in rural areas depend on forest for their firewood for cooking. Deforestation causes frequent floods. Deforestation has caused problems both good and bad, some examples of the positive effects are that it provides us with many natural resources. Without these natural resources some people would not survive. Not all deforestation is intentional a small portion of it is caused by natural disasters like wild fires.
To protect our forests, the animals that live in them, the soil, the air that we all breathe, and for all humanity’s health, we must use paper products responsibly; and we must make sure to recycle paper. We have to fight for a new law that establish that every person that cuts one single tree without any need should be punish with a huge fine. Also we can send e-mails to our friends, telling them about the practice of deforestation and its harmful effects. Ask them to forward it to others, to make everyone aware of the problem. Another amazing solution is to make banners saying ‘Plant More Trees’, ‘Stop Cutting Trees’, etc. and placed them

when you cut the tree's down that gets rid of the water held by the tree. that means less and less water will run down the rivers lakes, people animals and plants will suffer if the deforestation does'nt stop now.If you still don't think that none of this matters then lets put it like this. If they do not stop deforestation then the water cycle will be broken and that means that the water percentage will go down less and less each year. Then little by little the water will run less in the rivers and lakes. That being said one day we will have no water percentage in the earth and whats gonna happen then once all the resources are gone and then one by one we will go down in population so what happens then we all die out.…

This chapter was very informative and gave a lot of information about the reasons of deforestation. I knew that logging and agriculture were major causes of deforestation, but this chapter taught me that mining too is also a big factor. The author was very knowledgeable about this subject and wrote in a way that was very easy to understand. This chapter also gave a very thorough explanation of the impacts of deforestation on the lands. Through this chapter, the author explains how just because a few trees are cut down, the water supply diminishes and can lead to drought as well as many other issues that I did not know about. This is probably my favourite source about this deforestation problem as it was easy to understand and the author did not drag out his writing and got to the point very quickly. It was a good read!…

Deforestation is an issue we need to fix. I would like to spend 100,000 dollars on deforestation because some of the trees that are being cut down are thousands of years old. “Any fool can destroy trees”(John Muir, “The American Forests,” Atlantic Monthly, August, 1897) Above all this, one fact remains the same, we need trees to live. If we destroy all the trees in the world, we are left with harsh living conditions for ourselves. Our forests should be preserved if we want a better nation.…

First of all, deforestation is one of the reasons for the loss of habitat for millions of species around the world. According to National Geographic, around 70 percent of the world’s animal inhabitants and plants live in forests, but unfortunately many of them lose their lives and homes due to deforestation (National Geographic). Forests do not only provide shelter for animal species, moreover they regulate the temperature. If a forest is cut, the changes in the temperature could lead…

To understand why deforestation is such a pressing and urgent issue, forests must first be given credit for what they bring to global ecosystems and the quality of life that all species maintain. The forests have global implications not just on life but on the quality of it. Trees improve the quality of the air that species breath by trapping carbon and other particles produced by pollution. Because of the deforestation of the rainforest, nearly half of the world 's species of plants, animals and microorganisms will be destroyed or severely threatened over the next quarter century…

The rainforests of the world all have one thing in common: they are all based around the equator and the tropics. Without them, many of our household products such as wooden furniture and basic necessities like coal and even air would not exist. We are losing all of our raw materials up just as we are beginning to appreciate their true value. Rainforests once covered 14% of the earth's land surface; now they cover a mere 6% and scientists estimate that the last remaining rainforests could be drained in less than 40 years. One and a half acres of rainforest are being destroyed every second because the value of rainforest land is so high due to the value of its timber by short-sighted governments, multi-national logging companies, and land owners. Because of our greedy nature, we destroy 137 plant, animal and insect species every single day. If you don’t want to be part of this “we”, and feel you show some kind of response to the life threatening process of deforestation, read on.…

Climate change has many factors, but one of the biggest is the deforestation and the cutting down of the earths major natural forests. Deforestation is the removal of a forest or stand of trees where the land is thereafter converted to a non-forest use. According to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) secretariat, the overwhelming direct cause of deforestation is agriculture. Deforestation has negative effects on everyone and everything. Oxygen production is drastically lowered with every tree cut down, and the less trees there are, the less regulated the temperature of the Earth is. The amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere is adding to the greenhouse gases and trapping more heat in the earth’s atmosphere and causing global warming. Furthermore, Deforestation doesn’t just threaten our climate; it threatens the livelihoods of 1.6 billion people that rely on forests for food and economic activity. Forests also serve as habitats to rare and undiscovered animal and plant species and play a key role in providing water and preventing flooding and erosion. Ending deforestation and protecting forests will not only preserve biodiversity and defend the rights of forest communities; it is also one of the quickest and cost effective ways of curbing global warming. Ways in which we can reduce deforestation are (1) planting trees; by doing this you can be sure that with every tree that is cut down one is there to replace it also it changes tones of atmospheric carbon into wood and other fibrous tissue, thus reducing global warming. (2) Using both sides of…
