It was a cloudy and cold morning when I woke up to take Roald to the dentist. I woke him about half hour after I woke up. I cooked his favourite bacon and eggs for breakfast. We had a 10:30 appointment with the dentist and it was nearly all ready ten o’clock and I thought we’d better get going. The next minute Roald was ready to go so off we went.
It took us a good half hour to get all the way up the hill and to the dentists and by the time we got there we were late, but not by much. To our good fortune so was the doctor. We had literally just walked in the door when he called out Roald’s name. He guided us along to the surgery and told Roald to sit in the chair. He put the blade into his mouth taking care not to touch the sides of his mouth with the metal instrument, he took the blade right to the back of Roald’s mouth. Then as quick as a bullet he sliced out Roald’s adenoids.
Roald was coughing and spluttering blood everywhere, he was furious. As soon as he had finished spitting out all the blood I paid the doctor and marched out of there. ‘At least it’ll help you breathe clearer’ I said and walked home slowly. We both had a
