The purpose of this study is to investigate the leadership issues and broken promises to veterans by the Department of Veteran Affairs. The Department of Veteran Affairs is the Primary benefits provided for veteran all over the world. The Department of Veteran Affairs is a government organization that has been put in place to provide medical care and earn benefits to all who has served in the military throughout the years. The cover ups themselves were not a result of the doctors who are to provide care to the veterans, but was done by the people who were appointed to oversee the system. The VA system has been identified as being run amok and has lost the faith of many veterans who rely heavily on the system to take care of them. The extent of the true damage that has been done is hard to pinpoint due to no one knows exactly when the failure of the system began or who was the initial person that ignored or failed to run checks and balances of the system.
The results of the poor management and the failures in the system has affected other programs within the department. Examples of other failures are incorrect patient data, missed educational benefits, delayed compensation payments, and insurance payments delayed. All of this is a result of mismanagement in the system. These failures are no small issue when the results of the overall picture equals to thousands of vets without due benefits. These effects not only affects the veterans but also the family of veterans who also rely heavily on the Department of Veteran Affairs to operate as an efficient …show more content…
The finger pointing has already been done and the cleanup process of removing people from office has occurred. The practice that needs to be put in place is one that will catch up back logs, satisfy families that were effected by not receiving adequate health care, and checks and balances for management throughout the organization allowing each hand to know what the other is doing. By having a practice like this in place everyone is accountable for everyone actions due to the sever nature of this
