There are seven beds on the left and eight beds on the right. The last two beds on the right side of the room are used for the isolation room. Each bed has a curtain for patient privacy and a trash bin lined with disposable red garbage bags. The patients are arranged as an empty bed becomes available. However, urgent care patients are kept closer to the front of the ward. For example, if beds 1-3 or 13-15 are available urgent care patients would occupy these beds (Sapatula).

The surgeons performed exploratory lobotomy on her abdomen and after surgery she was placed under female surgical ward 1. Her vital signs where taken and she was physically assessed. She had a blood pressure reading of 129/67, axillary temperature reading of 100.40 F, and a pulse reading of 113 pbm. She also had a nasogastric tube inserted. The Physician orders instructed that she was to be given certain medications. These included Zosyn (3.375g), Morphine (5m IV), Gravol (50 mg IV) and Nexium (40mg IV).
