Description Essay When all the pressure and worries about life are on my shoulders, I always like to escape to Hawaii. Just by going here relieves me from all my troubles and stress. For me, going here once a year takes away my problems. When I stepped out of the hot, stuffy plane into the bright sunlight beaming down across the burning pavement, I felt excited. I heard the screech of the sea gulls and the chatter of the small fluffy birds in the trees. The Hawaiian sun beat down on my skin, warming my arms in its radiance. With my eyes closed, I breathed in the smell from a little white flower I found. I asked a little old lady with wrinkled skin what type of flower was this , she told me that this particular flower was called the tuberose. My friends and I push our way through the crowds of tourists at the market in the city. I saw many wonderful things. All of the tress had bright pinkish-red flowers. Also they were many tress covered with mangos, papaya, and star fruit. I couldn’t believe my eyes. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing and takes my breath away.

The color of the ocean was a rich deep blue in some spots and in others a bright, aquamarine green. We drove down to a beach called Sandy’s. The warm sand squished under my feet. I stopped just before the water touched my toes. I stood there taking it all in. The sun on my bare white shoulders and the warm cozy sand beneath my

She struggles against the ripping force of the ocean current. Her arms are quickly tiring from swimming against it. She relaxes, letting her muscles fall limp. Within seconds, she is pushed out to sea. The people on the beach are so small, little tiny ants against a white sand backdrop. The tall condo skyscrapers are now tiny Lego buildings. The kids hollering and music blasting on the beach is faded like a distant memory. She will die out here, she’s sure of it. Her daughter won’t have a mother’s hand to hold when learning to walk. Her husband will be left a widower, forever broken by the loss of his love. She closes her eyes and accepts her fate as she drifts further out to sea. She floats for a long while, the salinity in the water steadily…

The living room, or family room, is generally considered the main gathering area in most homes due to the television being located there. However, this is not the case in the more than one hundred year old, light grey, two story home in which I live. What’s better to chill out a hot summer’s day than something sweet and cool? No, I am not talking about a Popsicle. I am not talking about an ice cream cone, either. I am not even talking about iced tea or lemonade. It is something better than all of those, and it doesn’t even have all the sneaky calories of those other tasty treats! The answer to the question is simple. Have you guessed it? It is a cherry.…

As the children are playing water polo they are attempting to dodge the massive waves coming to the shore. The sound of the waves is so relaxing however, knowing there are young children near the powerful waves makes me nervous and on the lookout for one of them not returning above the waves. I understand the fun in dodging the waves because that was something I lived for as a child but it can be very dangerous. The touch of the soft, white sand on my feet is a feeling I will never forget. Personally, I think it is better than the feeling of soft carpet on your feet. The smell of the ocean's salt water is not one of my favorites but I adapt to it after sitting on the beach for so long. I just sit there and take in all the beautiful scene around…

Immediately upon arrival I headed to the beach and buried my feet in the gleaming hot white sand. I stood on the edge of this breathtaking tropical island and saw water so blue, that it more resembled liquid sapphire. The ocean's salt stained breeze kissed my skin only enough to askew my hair and soften the mandarin orange suns heat. The ocean was like a cool rejuvenating enveloping blanket. Staggered black jetties stretched like fingers into the deep blue water offering the gulls something to bask in the sun on.…

As I walk down the narrow, brown, rickety bridge that leads to the ocean my heart begins to race in anticipation of reaching the fascinating sight. I’m suddenly surrounded by sand that is white and pure as snow. I walk at a turtle’s speed absorbing this overwhelming beauty that encircles me. The sky is the brightest blue I’ve ever seen, so bright that it almost seems as if it is from an animated movie and not real life itself. Fluffy clumps of clouds that were covering the sky before slowly fade away into thin air and the crystal clear waves sparkle like diamonds. The water is never-ending. I see heaps of seagulls flying around the sky, white and grey and full of spirit. As a gust of wind runs through my long, dark, brown hair I look to the right to see two elegant dolphins leap from the deep blue sea and dive back in as if saying hello to the gorgeous, heavenly day.…
