Descriptive Essay About Mothers Cookies
Many students enter college expecting good times, knowledge, friendships, and a new sense of direction. When I first got to William Penn I didn’t believe I would gain any of that. As time has passed I realized that WPU does have a lot to offer but everything takes patients. I also had to realize that everything wasn’t going to come easy either. I soon found out that college comes with challenges and struggles because of the great demands and expectations that comes with success. The demands of doing many different things with very little time can become overwhelming. But I believe I’m starting to get the hang of it. There are a limited number of students on the campus so it makes it easier to focus in class that’s something I really like. Putting in long hours and worrying about class does bring extra stress but I’m learning to balance it all out. Coming to WPU has also taught me to have an open ming that I can’t just do the tihngs that I know how to do. I have to try new things that im unconfortable doing. I believe attending this university will open many doors for me. It will also help me mature and become a better student . WPU wiil also help me build my career and start my life on the right path.
I chose to come to William Penn becaus I knew that a school far away would give me a better chance to focus on school without too many distractions. Another reason I chose William Penn is because I'm very deticated to basketball and coach Henry offered me scholarship money to give me an oppurtunity to play. I also did my research and I noticed that the basketball team had a great season and great program. So I figured it was an honor that William Penn wanted me. I also have lived in Louisiana my whole life so i was really read for the college experience and something different other than Louisiana.
So far I'm feeling that William Penn was the right choice for me. I needed a new start away from all my problems back home. I was really making bad choices that was

Yale appeals to me because of all the amazing opportunities that it offers. I'm looking to go onto medical school and I know after extensive research that Yale offers me the opportunities as a pre-med student that I need in order to make my dream of becoming a doctor a reality. Yale offers a great amount of assistance such as health professions advising, career advising, and tutoring which isn't something that all colleges usually prioritize so I genuinely appreciate it especially because I realize that being a pre-med student at any college will prove to be demanding and rigorous.…

Before I came to Randolph-Macon, I was narrow-minded, not social, and was against coming out of my comfort zone. My mindset before coming to college was that I could come to college for 4 years, coming home almost every weekend, and go right back home and work on the water or work in the office of my parent’s clam and oyster company. Now I have broadened my horizons and see myself doing so much more with my life. Making it through that terrible first week of college, I realized I could make it through anything and handle anything life threw to at…

College is unfamiliar territory to individuals of my age. I have friends and family members who have been through it, yet everyone’s experience is completely diverse. Nevertheless, there is one statement that is habitually received amongst many when they talk about their college experience: “College is the best four years of your life, so be sure to make the most of it.” That is unerringly what I plan to accomplish with my four years at the University of Louisville. When I attended Eastern as a ripe 18 year old, straight out of high school, I had a romanticized ideal about what would happen. My expectations were framed in part from things I had seen in movies, and stories I had heard from friends when they attended their first semester of college. Having had an easy time in high school, never studying, never having to work very hard for an A; I spent the first few weeks of college trying to adjust to having professors who don't know your name and do not care if you attend class. The new found freedom I had acquired by moving into the dorm and away from my mother, weighed on me like a fifty pound block. I made poor decisions simply because I could, simply because there was…

Before coming to college, I had made many naïve assumptions about Binghamton University. What if my roommate didn't like me? What if we have nothing in common? However, after arriving here, the experiences that I've made have altered my thoughts on college.…

My expectations upon arriving were very high. I was expecting to meet many new people from different parts of the world from many different cultures. The thought of expanding my knowledge with new material had me very excited as well. Handling the workload was going to rely solely on me, and me alone. I knew there wasn’t going to be anyone to blame but me for my own failure. I expected there to be more challenging material introduced to me. My expectations for campus life were way different than what they actually were. I expected it to be like I’ve seen in movies which were undeniably entertaining. I was one of the students that thought that college was going to be a big party. My professors’ expectations of me were going to be drastically different. In high school you were in trouble for not attending class. Written up, and in some circumstances suspended. Your professor does expect you to come to class, but it’s not demanded. There will be no write up’s or suspensions. You are penalized by robbing yourself of the education you are paying for. Your professor won’t ask where your work is; only make you aware that you are failing. Some are nice enough to inquire into what the problem may be. However, again, the work load falls entirely on you. From my experiences I learned that college isn't all about being successful socially, rather, it is about being successful academically. It made me realize that your freshman year of college will…
