A quinceañera is a celebration that typically begins in a church with a small mass and ends at a reception hall with family and friends partying the night away. It is a rite of passage when a young girl transitions into a woman. Such events usually take months to plan due to what big of an event it is. Photographers have to be hired to capture the glorious moment, professional decorators to make the reception hall resemble a palace, and a DJ to get the party going. The only decision a quinceañera should have to make is what dress she wants and what color it should be. The day started in a small where a small prayer was held before we headed out to the reception. My cousin sat at the front in her big blue, poofy dress while the guests all sat in the pews behind her waiting for the sermon to begin. The priest went through the prayer pretty quickly and my family and I rushed to the reception hall to make sure everything was ready by the time the guests arrived. My cousin was to arrive at a later time with her court of chambelanes. When I entered the reception hall, I was astonished by how beautiful everything looked. It resembled a disco ball with mirrors all around, even on the ceiling; the tables were covered in all white table cloths with a small blue centerpiece to match the quinceañera's dress; there were probably more balloons than there was people and the chandelier in the center of the dance floor brought the whole place together with its luxurious dripping crystals. When it was time for my cousin to arrive, a long, white Hummer stretch limo dropped her and her chambelanes off. As she entered, she greeted the few guests that had already arrived. With the light shining on her, she looked like Cinderella in her light blue dress which shined from all the glitter and diamonds it was covered
