Descriptive Essay On Harvey Cedars
Harvey Cedars is a Christian Bible Conference located on Long Beach Island. The first time I went there was in 2007. The view from when you walk in there is the ground is covered in shells, there’s a big lodge with lots of apartments where people stay and a gorgeous dock with beautiful sunsets to see. Last of all you see the beautiful sand with the volleyball courts and people talking and kids playing and occasional dogs running around.
When I was old enough to remember and do activities at Harvey Cedars it was an absolute blast for me. Two of my fondest memories are with my Dad, the first one was when I was 8, in my class we built stuff but the one thing he help me build was an ark, now the ark was ugly because I painted it when I was 7 but …show more content…
The basketball tournaments is the staff versus the guests. The best game I’ve seen was when it was the guests down by 4 to the staff with 16 seconds left it got down to 10 seconds left, one of the guests makes a 3 then we steal the ball from the staff of the guests gets dunk for the win with 2 seconds left and we won it, was straight out of a movie but it was amazing to see. But the best part is the sand-sculpture contest. Every year about 50 people go down to the beach for about 2 hours and try to make the best sand-sculpture possible, the winner gets a free milkshake at the shop. One of the best winning sculptures was beautiful the guy who made it his name was Josh Lyon so he made a big lion about his size then laid next to it for the picture. My 3 friends and I also participated, we made a sculpture of a volcano and wet sand as the lava although we got didn’t we get 1st place we still got 3rd and it was a blast making it with them and hanging out on the beach for 3 hours. After Dinner every day everyone heads down to the chapel from where we sing and then listen to great speakers talk and tell us about God or personal experiences.
