Descriptive Essay On Willow Brooks
Willow Brooks Rough Draft

I met an interesting girl who I am now glad to call my friend. She is rather intelligent and seems to have a grasp on what she wants to do in life. She was born and raised in Texarkana, AR where she went to Arkansas High School. Willow Brooks is a student at National Park and has many hobbies, a crazy family, and goals that she plans to accomplish.
Willow’s hobbies include things such as painting, listening to music, and playing video games. Some of her favorite genres in the world of painting are abstract art and the female form. In the story “The Birthmark” written by Nathaniel Hawthorn, the author sets a dark and cold mood of hatred through Aylmer and Georgiana’s relationship. Aylmer especially has hate towards the birthmark which leads to his change of attitude towards Georgiana. When Aylmer says, “a defect or a beauty shocks me” hurts Georgiana because she believes “you cannot love what shocks you” (Hawthorne 219). The quote implies that the birthmark is a part of Georgiana and Aylmer cannot love her for her true self if he cannot look past a simple “earthly imperfection” (Hawthorn 219). Aylmer had so much hatred towards the birthmark that he thought it was a “frightful object, causing him more trouble and horror than ever”(Hawthorn 221). The hatred which Aylmer continuously has for Georgiana’s birthmark creates a consistent darkness over Aylmer because he could never appreciate his wife even when she was dying.…

Her entire mindset changed after living with different people, and viewing the world through a whole new different perspective. Before her parent’s death, she didn’t really look at humans as people to interact with, but rather as organisms to observe. She would take pictures of people who may have had skin disorders. Willow would go to the mall, not to shop, but to make field notes and flashcards about the different types of diseases she saw. After her parent’s death, and after everything she went through, she did things that helped her community. For example, she started the project of making a real garden in the Gardens of Glenwood. She took the initiative by going to the bank and getting the approval. This proves that she was really invested in that project. I mean, how often do you see a 12-year old going up to a bank official and submitting a binder full of reasons as to why she should be allowed to plant a garden at the Gardens of Glenwood? She was the one who led the team and whole project. This shows, that over time, Willow stopped looking at humans as specimens, and more as people that she could interact…

A woman once said "Educate a boy, you educate a man, but educate a girl and you educate a family" (Face To Face: We Founded, n.d. pg.1). This woman was Adelaide Hunter Hoodless, born on February 27, 1857, who was an incredible woman with the qualities of a leader and inspiring other women with her speeches (Adelaide Hunter Hoodless Homestead, n.d. pg.1). She changed many women's lives as she made education beyond grade 8 possible for women and girls as well as helping women reach equality with men. It all started when Adelaide went to Ladies College and met John Hoodless whom she married and later had 4 children (Who Is Adelaide Hunter Hoodless, n.d. pg.1). Then, tragedy struck in the family. Her fourth son died because of drinking impure milk which was Adelaide's motivation and encouragement to not let this happen to any other women (ibib). So, she made many organizations that taught women and girls about Domestic Sciences (household work), nutrition and hygiene (Adelaide’s Story, n.d. pg.1). Her contributions to Canada, their impact on the society and how it has evolved today's world will be discussed in the following paragraphs.…
