There's never been a baby that is perfect, and there never will be. Actually maybe there is a way to get the perfect baby! Introducing, Designer Babies, the revolutionary new way to get the perfect way to edit the babies genes to your liking! Scientist have developed a way in which it allows the parents of the child to choose what their baby will turn out to be, for example, what if that a parent wanted their baby to be a boy, then just edit some of those genes and, there it is, a boy. There are multiple reasons why "Designer Babies" can make a positive impact on a child's life and how it will benefit the future. According to the article "Should parents be allowed to choose the sex of their baby?" it states "If the process is not done carefully, the embryo could be accidentally terminated."(Storrs). As well as the cost of the procedure, if approved by the "Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority", it could be a staggering $3,000 (Marsh)! Furthermore, individuality will become something of the past, because most people will seek out good-looking, intelligent babies with other benefiting characteristics, everyone will be relatively similar. The chances of the embryo getting terminated is very slim though. If the procedure goes right, which most of the time it will go according to plan, then you get your perfect baby. On the other hand, if the procedure does not go according to plan, the the embryo will be terminated and there will be no child.
There are many ways in which Designer Babies can benefit the baby and it's future. All the studies and all the benefits support the claim that Designer Babies is a good thing. This matters because of how this idea could impact the future of all humans, just a few examples could be: humans would all be smarter, healthier, and live longer. The only way this can be achieved is if people realize how much Designer Babies can really benefit mankind. People must realize all of the benefits that come with Designer Babies, notice how this could actually save lives, and benefit the human race for the future and years to
