Determination: Decision Making and Vivid Image

Determination
I have been in school for twelve years and seen many friends drop out. I’ve never understood how they could make it so far and just give up. But the only thing that seems to make any since is a lack of determination. It is very good to have vivid image of the things you want in life. A lion doesn’t hunt its prey with its eyes closed so don’t blindly chase after a dream or hope to accomplish something without putting any effort towards it. Think about the things you want in the future and weigh out the possibilities. Once you know what you want in life then you can set goals to achieve your dreams. Although some people can have a very vivid image of the life they want, but when things get a bit rough they lose hope and walk away. As one of the greatest military leaders once said “The truest wisdom is a resolute determination” -Napoleon Bonaparte. I believe that means the best way to stay determined in achieving your personal goals is to stay focused, courageous, and decisive at all times.
I have always had problems when it came to paying attention to a particular thing or subject. No matter what I am doing at the time I seem to lose focus. I have so much on my mind at all times so it’s hard to focus on a single thing. So staying focused has never been an easy task. Yet I know that in order to make it in life there are certain things that I must pay attention to. Such as my Auto teachers class lesson because later on in my life all the stuff he had taught is going to be a part of my everyday life. So every day in that class I am determined to pay attention and become better at my work. A lot of the time it isn’t particularly my fault that I can’t stay focused. There are many distractions in today’s society unlike in the past where all you had to worry about was your profession and your family. It is very important to learn how to block certain things out so you can stay determined and focus on

I never thought that I would be majoring in Graphic designer. That challenges me deeply and helps me to discover myself because the art wasn’t my dream and wasn't my strength. So, why people think about dropping out? According to Alex Kern’s in his essay “Don’t Drop Out Why There’s Still Value in College”, he argument about this problem. I agree with him because they may lose the opportunity to discover themself and it’s maybe the best thing that will happen to them. I agree with him about surround your self with community, college helps to push your limits and impotent lesson comes from expiries.…

Winston Churchill said, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts.” You are not guaranteed to be successful so you must work hard to succeed. If you happen to fall along the way, get back up and try again; failure won’t kill you, it will only make you stronger. What counts the most is that you continue to do your absolute best even though there may be obstacles in your way. This can be seen in each of articles I read as well as in my own experience. Each person in the articles, and myself have had some sort of obstacle to overcome when it came to our education but we never gave up until we were where we wanted or needed to be. If we want to be successful and get a good education we must have determination, encouragement, and fulfillment.…

The constant reminder of achieving greatness has stuck with me since I was eight years old. Throughout middle school I was top of my class, in high school I graduated cum laude with a 4.4 GPA and currently in my 1st year of college I am top of my intermediate/college algebra class, I scored the highest grade out of all 5 of my psychology teachers classes, and I have an A in my Philosophy class. Life Factor Assessment

After taking the Life Factors assessment, I learned that I need to be more concerned about my future academic commitment and that my reason for going back to school may be a concern. I guess it’s because I get discouraged at times. Sometimes, I sit and think of the reasons why I’m in school and how it will benefit me. I don’t want to be one of those people with two degrees, and no job, that’s scary to me. Having ample time, having a place to study, and having a solid level of resources and support were all strengths of mine. My strengths are very important when it comes to me being in school, especially an online school. It wouldn’t be easy for me to concentrate and finish my assignments without having a place that I can study without interruptions or having the necessary resources that I need to excel in my course. The support from friends and family is another strength that I feel I need to continue my education. The motivation and extra push is what keeps me going. I think reason is the life factor that I need to focus on the most. I guess I’m one of those people who believe that you can success depends on your work ethic and how much you want it rather than your education because coming from where I’m from, the most successful people are the ones who don’t have a degree. I try to be realistic because I know that in this day and time, a degree is much needed but when people ask me why I need a degree, I’m speechless. I think my reason for getting a degree is because it looks good and I’m afraid that I’ll regret it if I don’t finish. I will change my behavior by figuring out just why I want my education and focusing on the goal that I want to set. Procrastination and time management are the personality factors that I will work most to strengthen because doing things at the last minute and rushing through it is a big problem for me. It’s easier for me to work under pressure but time isn’t always on my side so I think that learning to work at a decent pace will…

What sets my story apart from many is that my goals never changed despite such difficult odds. Yes, I had to stop and start a few times, but my drive to succeed in terms of my education never wavered. There are a lot of people that start school, stop and then move into a career or trade, with school far from their minds. Not me. My parents dreamed of me finishing and I’ve always wanted to be a pharmacist, so our dreams intersected and the culmination is my continued path to finish college and be successful. There isn’t a roadblock big enough to block my path now; as an older and wise student with a life full of exceptional cultural, educational and life experience behind me, I am well on my way to accomplishing those same goals I set for myself so many years…
