Type 1 diabetes is insulin dependent, an autoimmune destruction of beta cells in the pancreas. Therefore, required insulin replacement, and not associated to obesity, and occur mostly in children and adolescent. However, type 2 diabetes it is non- insulin- dependent, and caused by decreased of insulin production, and occur mostly in people 50+ age, and associated with obesity.
