is the only one she loves. Towards the end of the story Anne learns to appreciate her mother more. When Anne was give gifts out to people she gave her mother a gift to and it was from the heart. This showed that she started to care for her family, but not only her family. In Tragedy revealed by Ernst Schnabel, when Anne was in a concentration camp there was a sick boy. She stood by his bed all day while he was sick, just like her father did for her when she was sick. This shows that Anne did change.
Anne and Dussel fight a lot about who gets the desk and how and makes too much noise at night. They didn't really like each other and were always bickering back and forth. On Hanukkah Anne got Dussel eat plugs so that he would not have to hear her at night. This act of kindness made them both become closer to each other and made them fight less. Another way people changed is when Mr Van Daan was caught stealing the food. Mrs Frank was furious with him and wanted no part in him. She wanted to kick him out until she heard that the Allies were invading germany and that they would be saved. Once she heard the news, she was less mad because they might have been able to get out of the annex.
