The first thing you will need to do is stop at Starbucks for an extra-large, double shot latte. It would also help to bring along some chocolate for those stressful moments you are guaranteed to have, but do not let the kids see it. Second, have a notepad and pencil handy to jot down cell phone numbers, emergency numbers, and any other special instructions. The parents will most likely be rushing out the door while giving harried instructions at the same time, and you will not remember everything they say unless you write it down. After the parents leave, the most important thing to do is locate the diapers and wipes. It will save you from having to hunt them down later, when there is an “emergency.” When the kids have settled down, and have adjusted to you being there, put the frozen pizza in the oven and set the timer. While the pizza is baking, get creative and entertain the kids. They will most likely be wining to eat, so any distraction will help. As soon as the food is ready, grab bibs, bottles, plates, napkins, and whatever else you need to make this a successful meal.
