Difference Between Hero And The Immature Protagonist
In every story there is a hero, and each hero is unique. Video games offer countless adventures that allow one to view the world through the eyes of a hero. It is the protagonist’s job to be the hero and to progress through the story. Each protagonist has a personality that sets him or her apart from the rest. Even if the protagonist is the most unlikely person to be the hero, such as a quiet villager or a priest he will pull through and defeat evil. There are many different types of protagonists in video games with the most common three being: the Pure-Hearted Hero, the Immature Protagonist, and the Silent Protagonist. As the name implies this protagonist is not very mature and does stuff that is not really acceptable for his age. He might not be very smart, but he knows how to get the job done with practice. The Immature Protagonist often has a sorrowful backstory. This protagonist might not even know what has happened to him in the past. Once he figures out about his mysterious past, he will want to stop the evil even more because of it. It is often harder for this protagonist to accomplish his goal because of his immaturity. His goal could be to take down a government or maybe even to stop his own family from an evil plan. This protagonist is emotional, and he usually gets upset or mad due to the smallest of things. Because of his strong emotions it is hard for him to make friends to help him out on his journey to stop the evil. The friends eventually accept the protagonist for who he is. The protagonist might even be forced to make drastic changes in his own personality in order to get accepted by others. Eventually, the protagonist teams up with his newly-made friends in order to accomplish the goal and stop the evil. The Immature Protagonist is able to overcome his issues to be the hero for the day.
