June 7, 2007 Meeting New Cultures Meeting people of other cultures has helped me to become a better person. Some people do not know how to meet or become friends with people of other cultures. A lot of people need to learn how to understand the cultures of different people. For example, there are several kinds of people that you could meet, be friends with, and learn a lot from. I have encountered people from some of the Indian tribe cultures; as well as the Mexican, Latino, Irish, Pilipino, Dutch, and Greek cultures. I have changed the way I look and view other cultures because of my friends from these cultures. Meeting people of other cultures has given me a new understanding of how my friends have felt because they looked or talked differently from people who have grown up in the American culture.
