Dignity at Work Charter
We at ESB and the Group of Unions are committed to working together to maintain a workplace environment that encourages and supports the right to dignity at work.
All who work in ESB are expected to respect the right of each individual to dignity in their working life. All will be treated equally and respected for their individuality and diversity. Bullying, Harassment or Sexual Harassment in any form is not accepted and will not be tolerated by the Company. Our policies and procedures will underpin the principles and objectives of this charter.
All individuals, whether directly employed or contracted by ESB, have a duty and responsibility to uphold this dignity at work charter and ESB‘s Managers and Supervisors have a specific responsibility to promote this provision.

Its aim is to raise awareness, promote a positive working environment and provide an effective means (within the company) of dealing with inappropriate behaviour including, bullying, harassment and sexual harassment. Both sides accept the primacy of this joint policy and set of procedures and commit to using these agreed procedures to deal with all such cases.

The Purpose Of The Policy

The purpose of the charter and policy is two fold; the first is to promote Respect and Dignity in the workplace and to create awareness of the potential problems of inappropriate behaviour including bullying, harassment and sexual harassment. The second is to treat all claims seriously and strive to resolve issues quickly, effectively and informally, where possible, whilst also maintaining good relations between all parties. We are confident that our policy can assist in creating a supportive environment where employees have the right to carry out their work in a positive environment.
