Discrimination is prevalent so much in our societies, workplaces and homes. Often it goes unrecognized and even accepted as part of the deal or something that is normal. There are times when we don't even blink an eyelid when somebody does get discriminated. Discrimination raises its ugly head in the most advanced nations as well as the most backward. Religion which is supposed to bring more sense to humanity has discriminated against persons and races.
Discrimination is a worldwide phenomenon. Men discriminate women, women discriminate men, whites discriminate black, blacks discriminate whites, east discriminates west and west discriminates the east, the rich discriminate the poor and the poor discriminate the rich, religions discriminate each other, the intelligent discriminate the simple minded, the able discriminate the disabled and the list can go on and on. Primarily it’s might that matters and the mighty strengthens itself through discrimination. Discrimination can be blatant as well a subtle and is present in various forms.
Age, Disability, Equal Pay/Compensation, Genetic Information, National Origin, Pregnancy, Race/Color, Religion, Retaliation, Gender, Language and Sexual are most forms or areas of discrimination. And it’s the weakest that are discriminated universally. When we seek out to find the weakest our search ends with women and children. When it comes to India its women and children more specifically girl children that are discriminated often and to a greater extent.
Many people suffer more than one form of discrimination. The depth of poverty is widest among people who suffer multiple forms of discrimination simultaneously.
