Nursing as defined by the American Nursing Association covers the metaparadigm theory which is the theoretical frameworks of nursing. This is divided into four but cannot stand alone. These are 1. Person- The recipient of care like the individual, families and communities. As nurses we don’t just take care of the sick patient in bed but we put to consideration the physical spiritual, psychological and sociocultural components, individual, family or community.…

Following giant theorists in philosophy in nursing, I organize my perceptions and understanding in according with the four metaparadigm concepts of nursing. In common senses, every person is an existing entity in the universe. Therefore, environment of an entity is the universe without the entity. And health is a conditional state that defines the enduring and developing of an entity. A person as a whole is composed of properly functioning physical body, mental clarity, emotional harmony, and enlightened spirit. Healthy persons have their components proportionally operating in a synchronized fashion and in harmony with the environment. Unhealthy persons find themselves in deficiency of the components or in inappropriate for the surrounding.…

The Byzantine Empire emerged because of its’ favorable geographic location. It was located on a defensible peninsula which had a natural harbor called the Golden Horn, which provided trading ships to enter easily. It also controlled the prosperous Mediterranean lands, which led to zones of trade, communication, and interaction – especially with Slavic, Arab, European, and Asian peoples and traditions. Its’ location provided it with land and sea routes allowing the Byzantium people to travel easily to Asia, Europe, and Africa. The Byzantine Empire was sustained for almost one thousand years because of its development of Caesaropapism and a complex government bureaucracy. Caesaropapism was created by Constantine which was a system of ruling where the emperor had absolute secular power as well as managing ecclesiastical affairs. The empire produced a large surplus of grain and had a class of free peasants who participated in the army and in turn got land to keep the agricultural economy strong. Craftsmen from this area were known for producing glassware, textiles, gems, jewelry, fine gold, and silver metalwork, and eventually silk, which brought economic success to the Byzantine Empire. Emperors of the Byzantine Empire treated the churches as part of their government. They elected the patriarch of Constantinople, and taught officials to teach their disciples of imperial authority and people’s obedience, as well as following God’s requests. The theme system was also implemented into the governing of the Byzantine emperors.…

In the latest subprime mortgage crisis, the accounting profession should take some responsibility as it appears basic principles of accounting were ignored when issuing subprime mortgage loans. A couple of these overlooked principles include unbiased opinions of auditors as well as fair value accounting. As noted by VanDenburgh and Harmelink (2008), “It is disappointing to discover that basic bad debt accounting practices were likely not adeptly practiced or audited in the subprime lending sector.” In my opinion, if generally accepted accounting practices had been followed, the subprime mortgage may not have been avoided, but the depths of its reaches could have been lessened.…

Orem’s passion for nursing is made apparent through her theory and the amount of time she spent personally developing the theory. Chesnutt began writing his stories after the popularity that Joel Chandler Harris received through his local-color literature stories of “Uncle Remus”. “The Goophered Grapevine” and “The Passing of Grandison” depicted how dialect speech was an integral part to the stories that were introduced to the readers. Both stories also are frame stories, a literary technique used by Chesnutt in which each story consists of a story within a story. Each frame story has an event that cause the main character of the story to take an action. In “The Passing of Grandison”, Dick made his mind up to free a slave owned by his family due to his desire to impress the girl that he loved. Stereotypes were also a big factor in Chesnutt’s stories. African Americans were still viewed as uneducated and unworthy to be in the same status like the white people. Women were regarded as weak, dependent, emotional, but at the same time they were pure and faithful as well. These were apparent in both stories and “The Wife of His Youth” too. The usage of irony is something that the readers can see a lot in the stories written by Chesnutt. In “The Passing of Grandison”, the master was adamant that Grandison would not run away from slavery when he was brought to other cities by his master’s son, Dick. He believed that Grandison was content and satisfied enough with his current state of his life that it would be impossible for him to flee. And Grandison exactly fulfilled the expectation of his master by being a faithful master, although he was given plenty of chances to run by Dick who desperately wanted him to be freed for the sake of impressing a girl that he was in love with. The readers probably though that it was the end of the story. However, an unexpected turn took place as soon as he got back to the plantation. Grandison took the perfect opportunity for him and his family to run away from the bondage of…
