Abstract
It is with great distress that healthcare providers, and societies as a whole, bear witness to the rise of gluttonous cultures. It is clear that being overweight or obese has become an epidemic that involves not just “wealthy” nations but spans the entire Globe. In this paper the reader will gain a biblical perspective on food, eating, and our cultural view of food. It is critical that we turn to the only source that has ever truly held the key to a healthy life, God 's word. Using the King James Version I will grant the reader a descriptive narrative of how the events of today coincide with the prophets utterance of Gods will on paper.

The very first commandment comes from Exodus 20:21 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. It is in this very first law that God spoke to Moses that has become humanities greatest downfall.
