Diversity

The diversity in the world today helps us all to grow as individuals and open our minds to the different ways of life. When a person becomes exposed to the different cultures and ways of life and how others live their life’s we see that all people do live differently in some way or another, then our minds are not closed anymore, yet they are opened to the differences of the world and we can see that each culture has a difference and that difference has a meaning in their lives. Diversity also promotes tolerance in the world. It allows us to accept other cultures and sometimes even adapt to the ways of those cultures and utilize those differences in our own cultures and lives. Although we are all different in some way or another, we all have differences that can strengthen society. Diversity allows us to learn, grow and understand new ways of living. It also allows us the opportunity to experience life to the fullest. If we had no diversity, we would all be in our own little worlds. With diversity we are able to expand our knowledge and learn more and become less ignorant to the different ways of the different cultures in the world.
Society plays a big role on race and culture. Whether a person is black or white, Asian or Hispanic, there will always be that someone who attempts to identify and stereotype others based on their appearance. A person should not be judged based on the color of one’s skin, what type of clothing they wear or even how they act.
It used to be that people would come from all over the world to the United States for the opportunities and freedom that is offered here. The United States needs to realize that we are all of one God; therefore we should all be treated as such. It should not matter what country you were born in. If you come to the United States to make a better life for yourself and your family and you become an American Citizen, then you should not have to hyphenate your nationality any longer.
