17 February 2014 DMA Museum Visit
Dallas Museum of Art is located in the heart of Dallas city. This is my second visit
to this museum, and every time I go, the modern architect and the simplicity of the building always fascinate me. I think the modern design of the building blends with architect of overall city that we see in downtown area. Even though the front area of the museum is not that spacious, I liked the landscapes of the building that is simple and paved with cobblestones. There were live oaks planted at the four sides of the building, and at the center of the building there was a circular fountain that grabbed my attention.
Architect Edward Larrbee Barnes of Edward Larrabee Barnes Associates and Dan Kiley designed DMA. As I entered the hall area, I felt the atmosphere is lively, clean and very welcoming. This museum consists of four stories, and each floor had various numbers of paintings, sculptures from different cultures especially from the Americas, Africa,
Asia, and the pacific (Dallas Museum of Art). DMA holds about 22,000 of artwork included the permanent (DMA owned pieces) and temporary collections of worldclass modern and contemporary art pieces (Dallas Museum of Art).
According to the description provided by the museum, free docent tours are offered in every Saturdays at two pm, which includes the highlights of the DMA collection. DMA opens their gate throughout the week, without any entrance fee but have to pay ten dollars for parking space. Treasure Hunt
Portrait of the honorable Mrs. Seymour Bathurst

Lawrence, master of elegant society portraiture in late Georgian England, was particularly gifted at lively characterization and colorful dramatic composition.” (DMA)
