Do People Agree With The Ideals Of A Liberal Or Conservative?

When you think of politics you probably think of the words “conservative” or “liberal” as well as the in between, “moderate”. Politicians may use these words as insults, but these words are a lot more than just insulting words, these words stand for what people believe in. People can decide which ideology they most fit with based on what ideals or beliefs they have. When it comes to political ideology, it comes down to the ideals or beliefs that people have, whether they agree with the ideals of a conservative, a liberal, or maybe a little of both. Conservatives believe in people being more responsible for their own needs. An example of this is that conservatives believe in a smaller government and less government regulations so that the people have more responsibility for their own being. Another belief of conservatives is that they think that healthcare should not be universal. They believe that people should have to work and afford their own healthcare and not have it provided by the government. Conservatives also believe in lower taxes because they believe it creates an incentive for people to work and become more active and independent. Overall, conservatives believe that people will earn what they deserve based on how hard they work for it and that people should be responsible for their own lives though some people are not
able to do so while liberals are quite the opposite.
Liberals believe in ideals that they feel will help achieve equality for all.
Liberals believe in a bigger government and more government regulations so that people can get the help they need and be cared for by the government. Liberals are also for universal health care so that all people have a chance of getting the health care they need despite their financial state. Another liberal belief is that they believe that public schools are best for the country because it gives everyone an equal chance at an education. Overall, liberals believe that everyone should be equal and that the government should guarantee that no one is in
need.
Although, the political ideology survey that I took said that I am a moderate liberal meaning that I agree mostly with the democratic party, but may also agree with some of the ideals of another party, I would consider myself a liberal. These results do not conflict with my own thoughts too much because I feel that I sort of agree with some of the ideals of other parties, but I would not say that it is enough to categorize myself as a moderate. Conservatives base their ideals on the fact that they believe that people should be responsible for themselves and be rewarded for the work they do while liberals believe that everyone should have equal opportunities and that the government should care for those who are in need. I consider myself a liberal because I agree with many of the ideals of liberals and I too believe that people should have equal opportunities and that the government should help take care of the people who are not able to do it themselves. Political ideology is a set of principles and ideals of a political group that are very helpful when deciding whether you are a liberal, a conservative, or a third party which is also helpful in deciding what political party you stand with.
