All can relate to that one special time of the year, Christmas, when whole families unite and spend hours endlessly sharing stories, making memories, and of course, opening presents! What happens though, when all of the sentimental value of Christmas is replaced solely with physical value, the gifts? What would Christmas be like then? The world is asked to accept the manifestation of God’s love, not in abstract terms, but in the full presence of a man in “our image and likeness,” one who can weep, suffer, bleed and die. This is the mystery that is shown to the world in the revelation of Jesus Christ, and Christmas believe it with awe, love and joy. The child in Mary’s arms is the Lord, the Son of God, and the one who holds the keys of…
The United States usually put their children to bed so when they wake up in the morning, Santa Claus has come during the night and set up the presents under the tree while they were fast asleep. Uruguay announces presents a whole different way. On Christmas Eve, families gather to have a huge dinner and wait for 12:00 am to hit. When it does, they gather all the children to a window in the house and point to a star in the sky and tell the kids that Papa Noel is on his way. As some of the parents are telling the story to the children, another adult is quietly putting the presents under the tree. They then announce Papa Noel has come. The children run to the place of the tree and see all the gifts piled all over the floor.…

The key difference here is that with suspense comes anxiety, merely due to the fact that the audience is expecting something to happen but they are uncertain as to what exactly (Barsam & Monahan, 132). However, surprise occurs when an ordinary scene is taking place and out of nowhere, unexpectedly something occurs. An excellent example of this is the previously described ‘alien bursting through a crew-members chest’ scene. This causes a very short-lived emotional response which ultimately intrigues the audience and leaves them wanting more future…

Just like the common mistake parents do during holidays. They shower their children with so many gifts. Parents wanted to provide the best as they say. But, they are only showering them with a lot of material stuff, so plenty that at times they get so overwhelmed. The worst thing…
During Christmas, my mom makes either pozole or tamales. This year she made pozole. It was really good and it had a good taste because my mom added a lot of red chiles. She either buys soda or makes ponche served hot, because of the weather we have during this time. We stay up until midnight and then we open our presents. Sometimes before its midnight, like around 8 or 9, we go to my aunts house for an hour or two and they give my family and I some presents which they want us to open early so we do. I sometimes make or buy cookies and give some to my cousins and my aunt. Then we go home around 10 or 11 and we stay up until midnight where we open out…
