I have spent countless hours of researching, visiting and discussing graduate school options with friends, family and colleagues. In the midst of all the research I have done, (insert school name here) resonates with me the most. The college’s rich curriculum and hands on learning in collaboration with a sense of community are all attributes that can elevate my career and personal growth.
The MBA (in accounting) hands on learning approach will help me acquire the necessary tools to make high level business decisions. I think one of the best ways of retaining information, is to practice what you learn. This approach will help me visualize solutions to real-world problems, while serving as an example to the facts and theories discussed. What also attracts me to the program is that each classroom (in the Stamford location) has roughly 20 to 30 students. Learning in a small setting is important to me because you can build interpersonal relationships with classmates and have the opportunity to ask the professor questions (as oppose to large lecture halls).
I recently attended a business reception held at the university’s down town location. At the reception I was able to talk to and build with some of the faculty members. I was intrigued and excited by all of the local colleagues and business partnerships that attended. I also had the opportunity to connect with alumni at the reception, one trending theme resonated with me and that was a sense of community. While attending the reception I learned that Professor David Taylor had participated in Starwood’s media marketing internship. Professor Taylor had volunteered his time to teach the students about media marketing. I would like the opportunity to be a part of a university that takes pride in cultivating its community, colleagues and alumni network.
(Insert school name here) will be the ideal setting to continue working on my career goals. If I am given the opportunity to attend
