EU includes a lot of institutions with specific roles. The European Commission is the third part of the institutional triangle that manages and runs the European Union. The Council of the European Union (also known as the Council of Ministers) is the EU’s main decision-making body. It has legislative power in fact it is responsible for adopting the EU budget and also concludes international agreements. The Court of Justice of the European Union is made up of one judge from each EU country. The Court’s role is to ensure that EU law is complied with, and that the Treaties are correctly interpreted and applied. The European Central Bank is responsible for managing the euro and the EU’s monetary policy. The European Parliament is elected every five years by member states' citizens, to whom the citizenship of the European Union is guaranteed. It exercises political supervision over the EU’s activities and takes part in the legislative process.
The EU has developed a single market through a standardized system of laws which applies in all member states, ensuring the free movement of people, goods, services, and capital. It maintains common policies on trade, agriculture, fisheries and regional development. Sixteen member states have adopted a common currency, the euro, constituting the Euro zone. Thanks to
