Materials and Methods
In order to begin the project sight reading material had to be selected. Then we choose a group of band students and separated them into three groups. One group would be told positive things, one would be told negative things, and the last group would be the control and told nothing. The students would be tested one by one. They would be given 30 seconds to view the music and then would perform. The audio of their performances was recorded. At the end they had to fill out a questionnaire that asked about how they felt before and during the test and if input from others affected their results. This was to be repeated three times.

As expected when someone is exposed to negative input it makes their way of thinking significantly less positive. One flaw that could have occurred is if any of the subjects shared information with other subjects it could have affected the results. Also the results could also have been affected by a subjects mindset before they were subjected to the sight reading test. If I were to repeat the test I would have done all the tests back to back which because of time constraints I could not do in this experiment. Also I would like to perform the test on a larger group so the results would be more accurate. Another experiment that could be formed from this question is that the subjects could negative input before the perform in front of a crowd and see how that affects
